"Jura Podnieka studija" is an award-winning film and multimedia solutions production company with over 20 years of experience providing a full production cycle from research to filming, editing and sound processing.

"JURA PODNIEKA STUDIJA" began its work as an independent entity in 1989. in which it produced a five - series film about the Soviet Union "Mēs" in collaboration with "Chanel 4" ( England) . Outstanding Latvian documentary filmmaker Juris Podnieks and his team bravely captured unique testimonies of the Soviet Union on the eve of its collapse. With his films Juris Podnieks, showing both the problems of young people in the film "Vai viegli būt jaunam?", both the aspirations for Baltic independence and the emotions of the first free "Dziesmu svētkos" in the movie "Krustceļš", both in anticipation of the demise of the Soviet Union in the film "Impērijas gals", gained a reputation as an honest and uncompromising filmmaker. These qualities are still the main values of the studio today, continuing to create new projects. Juris Podnieks died in 1992.

Today, JPS continues to produce documentaries on modern and historical topics, revealing events that have changed people's lives during the changes in Latvia's political and economic system. "JPS" continues to work outside Latvia, in cooperation with "Channel 4" ( England), "TVE" ( England), "NHK" ( Japan), "ARTE", For Russian televisions, etc. "JPS" produces several documentaries a year.

Animated movies "Burvīga diena" and "Redzi, Trusi...Tētis brauc uz Londonu!" screened at the Berlin Film Festival.

"JPS" also with feature film projects. The first scenario "Dzīves svinēšana" was developed with the support of Media Development. 2019. feature films are expected in the fall "Jelgava 94" premiere.

JPS offers a wide range of film production services - film research( also in Russia), filming( movies and videos), production, assembly( off-line, on-line), sound recordings, sound editing, processing, dubbing. The studio has its own premises in the center of Riga. JPS has its own sound studio, which ensures the quality of work in accordance with modern technologies and requirements. JPS sound directors have participated in the production of many Latvian art, documentary and animation films. The studio also works at Disney / Pixara and "20th Century Fox" studio animation film dubbing.

The main goal of the study is to participate in the development of projects that move people and make them believe that the world can get better!
